Ghana

Ghana is located in western Africa, on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea, between Côte d’Ivoire and Togo. In 1957 it became the first sub-Saharan country in colonial Africa to gain independence. Ghana is a constitutional democracy, with an attractive and stable investment climate.

Ghana’s population, of approximately 24 million people, is split evenly between the country’s urban centres, the capital Accra and the countryside. Agriculture, mainly small local holdings, drives the domestic economy and accounts for more than a third of Ghana’s gross domestic product. Ghana is rich in natural resources, with significant reserves of oil, gold, bauxite, aluminium and manganese ore.
